Biography

Ilja Visser, a Dutch-born artist lived in Milan, New York, and is currently based in Dubai.

 

Visser was admitted to the French trade association of high fashion, the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, and became an official member. ILJA presented alongside Christian Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, Fendi, and Jean-Paul Guiltier. ​

The brand's friends include Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys, Avril Lavigne, Kourtney Kardashian, and many more. 

​

Visser was the first Dutch designer to receive the prestigious Cultuur Mode Stipendium Award from the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds (Prince Bernhard Cultural Foundation) for her innovation and talent. The same year, she presented her work at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. After this, she presented her work in Paris with an exhibition at Galeries Lafayette Haussmann.

Her works are made from hand embroidery of re-used yarns and fabrics, combined with oil painting, acrylic painting, and charcoal.
